OH HEY! I built some puppets! Including this lovely guy right above^^^

Space Rabbit is a puppet sci-fi TV show directed by Matt Zoller Seitz. In Space Rabbit a group of puppet animals attempt to free their planet from a dictator. In production now. Release in 2018.

I had the pleasure of building and fabricating some puppets for the pilot, as well as puppet wrangling/auxillary performer for the shoot.

Space Rabbit video pilot.

And here are some pictures of the puppets I built for the shoot:

More info to come soon on the future of the exciting project.

I'll be performing in this hilarious Showcase with the ever lovely Leanne Brunn.
Come see our "Pop Goes the Weasel" Act and be prepared for surprises!

PARENTAL ADVISORY! These childhood songs may not be suitable for children. Join us as we reinterpret the music of our childhoods in some very adult ways.

Every few months, we invite a group of talented puppeteers and musicians to create original works of puppetry and exciting reinterpretations of music based on a particular musical theme (voted on by the audience at the previous show). This Playlist features beloved childhood songs destroyed by our twisted grown-up minds.

Featuring performances by: Leanne Brunn and Kirk Bixby, Chad Williams, Doppleskope, Jake Bazel, Kayla Prestel, Weston Chandler Long, Ariel Lauryn, Lauren Slusser, Emelia Benoit-Lavelle and Lydia Bottom, Andrea Dotto, Haley Jenkins, Brendan
Malafronte, Marte Eckhougen, Matt Singer, and Playlab NYC!

Since the first show in 2009, Puppet Playlist has played to often sold-out audiences. Previous performers (and their work) have been seen all over New York and throughout the world, on, off- and off-off-Broadway, at HERE Arts Center, Shakespeare in the Park, the Metropolitan Opera, FringeNYC, Lincoln Center, with Jim Henson Productions, Sesame Street, and The Muppets.

Puppet Playlist is a presentation of Sinking Ship Productions and The Tank, and is made possible, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC), as well as by generous funding from the Puppet Slam Network.

Sweeney Todd at the National Puppetry Conference!

I am beyond ecstatic to be attending the O'Neill Theatre National Puppetry Conference this summer, performing in an all-puppet workshop version of:

Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
in the role of Pirelli

From the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center website -
"This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the National Puppetry Conference, creating contemporary works of theater that defy imagination and confound expectations. Conference participants collaborate with nationally and internationally renowned puppet artists to push the boundaries of puppetry and challenge themselves and their audiences."

And here's a little info on the ambitious project I'll be undertaking...

Art Grueneberger
Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Participants will be developing selected scenes from the Stephen Sondheim thriller musical Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street as proof of concept for a fully realized production of the musical using life-sized puppets to portray the primary characters.  At the end of the week the participants will perform the scenes. The puppets will be a similar style to the puppets used in Grueneberger’s production of Man of La Mancha. (See video clips of that production here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMqQpSZKnP8).

The Conference will be holding public performances at the
Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center - Waterford, CT
June 17 & 18th @7pm

We Stand For Wildlife

After a very successful summer 2015 up in the Bronx with ReUsable the Musical, I'm thrilled to officially join the Wildife Conservation Society Outreach team at the Central Park Zoo. I'm so happy to continue encouraging environmental awareness and education with this exciting program.

The Central Park Zoo website states, "Wildlife Theater is the WCS's educational outreach program that brings the Zoo to You. This program uses theater to teach young people about wild things and wild places, helping to build the next generation of conservationists. Performances are self-contained, interactive, fun and include songs, stories, games and puppets. Programs are aligned with state standards. A Wildlife Theater visit to your facility will bring natural science to life for your young learners in a very memorable way."

Wildlife Theatre currently has 10 different pieces of programming, many of which can be
mixed and matched to fit your educational needs. And with science and environmental issues ever changing, there are always new shows in the works.

For more information about Wildlife Theatre, visit the Field Trips/Outreach page on CentralParkZoo.com
